In three days, August 17th, 18th and 19th, 2022, in Tu Mai commune, Yen Dung district and Vu Xa commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province, Center for Health Environment Research and Development (CHERAD) held training sessions for collaborators within the scope of the project “Building a community to protect environmental health”.
The delegation with 2 main members including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huy Nga and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Ngoc Khai went directly to Tu Mai and Vu Xa communes to propagate and mobilize collaborators of the project to take more initiative in connecting activities with local households to build a pilot community model in protecting environmental health.
Under the sharing and guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Ngoc Khai, more than 30 collaborators in 2 communes had had acquired better understanding of professional methods to help more than 300 pilot households gradually become model-households, thereby laying the foundation for the replication of the environmental health community model on a larger scale, offering the potential for drastic changes in environmental health protection.
The training session attracted the participation of management levels in Tu Mai and Vu Xa communes as well as representatives of social health agencies, veterans’ associations, and women’s unions. This showed the response and support of all levels and the local community to the project’s activities. The series of project activities “Building a community model to protect environmental health” is a new highlight in raising awareness and building a community to protect environmental health, especially air environment.
