On November 17th and 18th, 2022, the delegation consisted of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huy Nga – Director of CHERAD, Mr. Nguyen Trong An – Project Director successfully organized the grading and Honoring Ceremony for secondary school students in Tu Mai commune, Yen Dung district and Vu Xa commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province.

After nearly 2 months of organizing the drawing contest “protecting the air environment around me” in the ​​2 communes, there have been many quality works that have been entered into the final round for the judges to evaluate. Scoring procedure was conducted in a transparent and fair manner with the presence of experts from Bac Giang Department of Education and Training, CHERAD members and teachers of 04 schools (Vu Xa Primary School and Vu Xa Secondary School, Tu Mai Secondary School and Tu Mai Primary School). There were 03 special prizes, 10 first prizes, 14 second prizes, 20 third prizes, and 200 consolation prizes selected from hundreds of submission from students in both these primary and secondary schools. Overall, students’ submissions, besides being highly artistic for the ages of elementary and junior high school students, also showed the main theme of the contest, which is “the air around me”, shows the success in communication of the project to the students.

To summarize the contest in Bac Giang province, CHERAD cooperated with schools to organize 2 Honoring ceremonies at Vu Xa Primary School and Tu Mai Secondary School. The ceremony marked the success of the drawing contest “protecting the air environment around you” in 2 communes of Bac Giang province. The contest was organized by CHERAD with the aim of communicating to students knowledge related to environmental protection, especially air environmental protection. By bringing knowledge related to environmental issues and environmental protection into schools, CHERAD aims to build a community model that protects environmental health in a sustainable and long-term manner.

The drawing contest “protect the air environment around you” is part of the project’s series of activities in 2022. The project implements building positive typical green community models – prevention of air pollution in 4 communes in Bac Giang and Thai Binh province. Through training, communication activities, the project will gradually change the habits of households in the pilot areas, thereby building up green communities that are active in working toward protecting the environment, especially the air environment, thereby creating meaningful and practical evidence for other organizations and localities to follow.
